There are very many public footpaths leading from the canal particularly north of Macclesfield. OS Explorer map 268 covers the entire canal. Those points along the canal connecting to National Routes or to National Trails are shown in bold. Approximate cruising times are shown in blue to give a very rough idea of the time that may be taken to cruise between the points marked with a blue +.
