2008 indoor meetings
All meetings are held on the second Thursdays in their respective months.
Inside meetings (September to May) are normally held at the New Liberal Club, Boden Street, Macclesfield, Cheshire unless otherwise stated, starting at 7.45pm. The Liberal Club is not always available to us this season so some meetings are being held at the Conservative Club - please see the individual meeting notes below. No meetings. But please see HALOUS below.

HALOUS - Have A Lock On US!
Every Late Summer Bank Holiday finds us manning the locks at Bosley! This is our main fund raiser each year when we man as many locks as we can - it all depends on how many volunteers turn up each day - and assist boats through the flight as efficiently as we can.
In 2008 HALOUS will be on Saturday, Sunday and Monday 23rd - 25th August. Come and join us!
Annual Dinner
The 2009 Society Annual Dinner will be held on a date and at a location to be announced (usually the fourth Thursday in February).
Walks programme
These walks are generally of a more substantial nature, requiring appropriate clothing and footwear. They are normally held on the second Sunday after the second Thursday of the months September to April inclusive. Meet at 10.15 for a 10.30 prompt start and end in mid afternoon (unless exceptions noted below). Where possible a lunch stop is made at a suitable hostelry but this is not always practical. Just occasionally weekend walks are arranged with an overnight stop at a B&B.

Full details are published at the monthly meetings. In the meantime for details on individual walks or general information on the Society Walks please contact Cliff Miller (01625-439230).
There is also the annual IWPS New Year's morning walk on 1st January each year. Email David Kitching.
Please email the secretary for details on any walk.
Working parties
Voluntary working parties (VWPs) are usually held on the first Sunday after the second Thursday of each month (but not always!). Details can be obtained from the Secretary. Full details of the forthcoming session are announced at the immediately preceding meeting (see above).
We try always to have a variety of work available to suit all (or no) skills and strengths at one site. We meet at 10.00am at the nearest parking point. Where special tools are required they are supplied either from the society collection or by BW. However, if you have tools appropriate to the task in hand then please bring them if you wish. It is also necessary that you bring suitable work gloves.
Don't forget to bring a spot of lunch - unless you know there is a pub nearby! Most sessions end between 3.00 and 4.00pm depending on the nature of the work and the weather. We do this for pleasure!
Please check with the VWP coordinator or specified contact before each event - we prefer you not to turn up on spec. It is very helpful to know in advance who is coming.
