Introduction:

A large beautifully restored thatched roofed stone pub set back from the road.

Brews:

Robinson's fine cask ales on hand pump.

Food:

Excellent food served in the restaurant and bars (same prices). The carvery is popular enabling the diners to make their own choice of meat, veg, trimmings and quantity. I have visited on many occasions and the quality of food and standard of service is always very good. Highly recommended.

Other facilities:

Large car park at back.

Finding it:

canal map | road map

By road: About ¾ mile north of A50 traffic lights at Red Bull along A34 Congleton road at the Hall Green end of Scholar Green.
By canal: About 200m from the Macclesfield Canal; moor above Hall Green stop lock, up the ramp by the foot bridge, right along the path, left along the road, at the main road see it opposite and to the left.
By canal: About ¾ mile from the Trent & Mersey Canal at Church Lawton bridge 135. Take the field path to the church. There are two different ways to go from here and I suggest you refer to the map; both field and wooded paths.
