Notes for Revd Canon Benjamin Stephen Walcot 'Ben' CROCKETT Curate at Ottery St Mary, where he met Pat Adkins, followed by short curacies in Somerset and Lincolnshire. Vicar of All Saints, Mickleover, Derby, UK for many years. He was High Church and liked to be addressed as Father Crocket. Indeed, if marriage had been permitted he would have joined the Catholic church. He was a Derby County football team fan who declined to marry couples on a Saturday when the team were playing at home! He and the Bishop, Right Rev Cyril Bowles, often had seats in the directors' box. Strange but true: I, the webmaster, was related to Canon Ben through my mother and her sister, Ben's wife, and I am related through marriage on my father's side to a later Bishop of Derby, Bishop Redfern.
Family notes for Revd Canon Benjamin Stephen Walcot 'Ben' CROCKETT and Frances Patience 'Pat' ADKINS Lived in the huge very cold vicarage at Mickleover, Derby UK, for many years. Later moved to modern bungalow in the vicarage garden. On retirement moved to Allestree, Derby UK.
