Notes for Sarah Jane Mathursa Ann McCLANNAHAN

Sarah Jane appears twice in Daniels′ book, first on page xx as Sarah Jane Mathursa Ann McCLANNAHAN. This was probably her maiden name, the entry is complete with her parents, and she is shown as marrying Jesse ADKINS b.Nov 3, 1851, and having children, 4 girls and 7 boys (all un-named). Then on page 151 we have Jesse in his family structure b.Mar 13, 1854, and married to Sarah Jane GILLESPIE and having children, 4 girls and 7 boys (all named). So the question is - is this the same Sarah Jane? I think highly probable, so why the different surnames? Perhaps she had a second marriage, but I can′t say whether if was before or after Jesse. I am recording both names in the database with Sarah Jane GILLESPIE as an aka, ′also known as′. [Webmaster]
