Family notes for David ADKINS and Nancy CANTRELL Daniels, p.186.
Houston we have a problem! Daniels′ records show David ADKINS b.3-1865 and Nancy CANTRELL b.c.1867 twice, firstly on page 39 and secondly on page 186. This wouldn′t matter but for the fact that each reference is followed by many children, grandchildren and on. However, the descendants on each are completely different! After looking at this for some time I have concluded that the entry on p.39 is probably the incorrect entry. In order to accommodate both entries I have included these two people twice, with this note to explain the fact of the confusion. [Webmaster]
Notes for David ADKINS No definite proof has been found as to the parentage of David ADKINS, however, it is thought that he may have been a son of Henry ADKINS and Jerusa COLEMAN. He was not shown in any of the Pike County census records as being a son of any of the ADKINS families in the area, prior to the year 1900. Census information indicates that he was born in Virginia, as were his parents. He may have been married in Russell County, VA, where most records have been lost. [55]
