After Peter retired, they moved to Louisville KY to be near some of their children. He lived to be 93 years of age. [55]

Notes for Peter DANIELS

Peter DANIELS was basically a farmer and a coal miner but had previously worked for the C & O Railway Company as a welding foreman. He returned to Pike County from Ohio and bought a farm at Millard KY. He worked some of the mines during the depression years and worked for a gas company as a meter reader from 1940 until he retired c.1965. Peter was one of the last to run rafts down the Big Sandy River to Catlettsburg KY. He knew the river well and made several trips each spring when the river would raise to "raft-tide." [55]
