Notes for Thomas ADKINS 1881 Census - Living in New Road, Woodleigh, Kings Norton, Staffordshire UK. Noted on son′s wedding certificate as a ′Gentleman′. Travelled from Widney, Knowle, Warwickshire UK, to Birmingham every day by train for business.
Thomas wrote the letter to his mother. Clearly a child writing this, but what excellent writing! Aunt Lucy is his mother′s sister, Lucy MALINS. Florence is Thomas′s sister, Florence Ann ADKINS.
Notes for Ellen SOTHAM The picture is said to have been taken at the wedding of her grand-daughter Eleanor Wenham and Bryan Isaac in about 1927/8 when Ellen was about 83 but she really doesn′t look that old! Lived at Padstow, Beech Avenue, Sanderstead, Surrey UK, in her retiring years. [105]
