Family notes for Angeline BIRD and John P ADKINS

Daniels, p.212.

Unfortunately there is some confusion in Daniels′ listings. On p.53 he records John P ADKINS as being the son of Elisha ADKINS and Martha STEVENS, but on p.212 he lists John P ADKINS as the son of Nathaniel ADKINS and Elizabeth JUSTICE. Also on p.53 he shows Nathaniel having three wives, Vergie WILLIAMS as his first wife, Ora Dotson GIBSON, and June HYLTON. But, again, it′s different on p.212 where Angeline BIRD and Virgie WILLIAMS are listed, Virgie being noted as his second wife. Details of John P′s children are very similar, but not identical, on both pages.

The records on p.212 also have some different dates from p.53 and illustrate a possible generational displacement such that the children of John P and Angeline were born when their parents were in their 60s, quite unlikely, probably impossible!

The records on p.53 look more realistic, so I have omitted adding the children under the record from p.212. [Webmaster]
