Joseph T Daniels, with the considerable assistance of his wife, studied the Adkins families of several US states and wrote a privately published book (1988) 'Adkins of Eastern Kentucky and surrounding areas'. The book contains about 12,000 names, more than half of which are Adkins named, and the webmaster is slowly adding them to this web site. [55],[95]

The Adkins families of the eastern US owe a great debt of gratitude to the Daniels family for unearthing, collating and publishing such a vast collection of information about their family heritage. [95]

Joe retired from Ford on June 30, 1980.
