Notes for John Howard 'Jack' ADKINS

Jack worked for the Bank of New Zealand and served at various branches around New Zealand. In late 1935 he was appointed as Accountant to the branch in Apia [Samoa], He had served there a few years earlier as well. Of course he associated with other ex-patriots from New Zealand, some of whom married girls from my wife’s family who were Samoans. After they all returned to New Zealand they remained friends with both Jack and Ilse separately.

After Jack retired from the Bank, he took up a clerical position at the Head Office of a packaging company. When I started working there also, I worked alongside Jack for several years. After his final retirement I lost touch with him,

As you can see there is a huge gap in the middle regarding Jack, Ilse and Ruth and there is not a lot of information on line about the Births, Marriages and Deaths records in Samoa. I will keep looking however. [139]

Family notes for Ilse Alma Gisela KLINKMULLER and John Howard 'Jack' ADKINS

All three, parents and Ruth, moved [from Samoa] to New Zealand although whether together or apart I cannot tell. [139]
