Family notes for Winston ADKINS and UNKNOWN I could not locate a first marriage in any of the Eastern Kentucky counties or
Southwest Virginia or West Virginia counties. Winston appeared in the 1850 Pike
County census and did not appear in the 1860 census records. He appeared in the 1870
Pike County census records with his wife, Susan, who he married 21 December 1867.
His first marriage could have ended in divorce or the death of his wife. If any
children were born to the first marriage, none were living with Winston and Susan
Ramey or Ramsey, as indicated in the 1870 Pike County census records. [55]
