Records of Joseph′s second marriage, to Jane VANCE, indicate that there was an earlier marriage for Joseph. There was a JosephADKINS that married an Elizabeth FULLER on Dec 10, 1848. This was not this Joseph as he would have been only 11 years old at the time. We have been unable to locate any first marriage in Pike, Floyd, Lawrence or any of the surrounding counties. [55]
